Health Valley accelerates innovation for health and care

 As the care innovation ecosystem of East Netherlands, we accelerate innovations with the use of technology to help people live healthier lives for longer. We identify healthcare issues and connect them to the business community to accelerate the development, application and upscaling of innovative technological solutions.

 

The healthcare system is under pressure due to an aging population, increasing demands for care, rising costs and staff shortages. We are convinced that the solution to these problems can be found in the acceleration of innovation and digitization in healthcare. Through the smart use of technology, we give patients and citizens more control, we improve cooperation, communication and information in the sector and we save costs at the same time. Moreover, there is room to work more preventively. From curative to effective. From standard to person-centred care.

 

We have been pursuing this turnaround since 2006, putting the interests of all patients and consumers first. We support companies that give new impulses to health and care. With more than 250 regional, national and international partners, we are building an ecosystem in which new connections are created every day. Across the sectors, we look at opportunities for knowledge sharing, product innovation and market introduction.

 

We accelerate innovation from three roles:

 

Connect

 

The developments in technology are unprecedented. New concepts and applications are constantly being devised, both within universities and companies. Sometimes, however, the implementation of all these options in practice stalls. One party does not know what the other party has to offer and what may have already been developed elsewhere. We know that and that is our first role. With our extensive network and up-to-date knowledge of all developments in the sector, we connect supply and demand. We do this quickly and adequately. That's where our strength lies. The entire network is available to each partner to jointly realize accelerations.

 

Challenge

 

We go further than just establishing and facilitating contacts. Our second role is that of booster and challenger. We identify and place on the agenda the most important issues facing healthcare in our region - and indeed worldwide. We are at the forefront of the ambition to set concrete, practical goals for healthcare and accelerate innovations. If we identify promising solutions, we give them a wider platform. In this way we challenge institutions and companies every day to go faster.

 

Grow

 

The challenges in healthcare know no boundaries. Solutions developed in East Netherlands can also be implemented nationally and internationally. We also support companies in this. We use our national and international contacts to find markets and realize growth. That's our third roll. We know our way around Europe, also in the field of financing and regulations. Talent development has our specific attention. We introduce students to the practice and interest graduates in a career in healthcare and related companies.

In the first place, we are actively building on strengthening our network. We invite relevant parties to join, make their own contribution and benefit from our ecosystem. Based on a clear, supported vision, we support the strength of all partners in our network. We do this with knowledge, contacts and practical tools to overcome their challenges. And finally, we challenge our partners and our region to achieve concrete goals. With the result of this, we are constantly sharpening our vision. That completes the circle.

 

We are an enthusiastic and ambitious club that organizes cooperation. We remain involved until the result is achieved. We mobilize invisible forces, bring thinkers and doers together and find creative and innovative solutions together. We get things done.

 

The professionals of our team and our board members each have their own expertise, background and network. They work together and with specialists from the field on a daily basis to tackle the major social challenges of our time. We dare to experiment and break new ground. We work bottom-up and link up with the issues of healthcare; the real themes of our time.
